So on Saturday 14th April, 2012 in Trinidad and Tobago there was a visible rainbow like halo around the sun. Everyone was sent into a frenzy and social networks facebook, twitter and BBM were all abuzz because of the rare spectacle. From comments of the world going to end, to just plain curiosity, confusion and amazement at the sight and of course lots and lots of pictures.
After doing research people came to know that the occurrence was called nimbus, icebow or gloriole. Apparently it is associated with clouds called cirrostratus which are composed of ice crystals and usually form at altitudes above 20,000 feet!
But apart from the science mumbo jumbo of how it occurs is the pure beauty, splendor and majesty of the sight was enough to make everyone appreciate the beauty of life.... Well at least I did. The sight was nothing short of amazing and inspiring and something that I will not soon forget. Coming at a time where I craved to be moved, here comes this remarkable phenomena to activate my senses and encourage my spirit.
Life's simple wonders... simple pleasures always trump its complexities and difficulties.
Enjoy the beauty of life with me through these photos the last two I took for myself the others I stole (borrowed from my contacts on BBM) :) This was one of those things where there was no way to take a bad photo of it, each is beautiful in its own majestic way and none less amazing than the other...
